Day 10 #dailypatterns

Can't believe I forgot again!!! So thought this could be quite an awesome geometric pattern. Like the strong lines.

#dailypatterns Day 08

And today's pattern is a piece that I really like. Some grunge checkered pattern. It's where posters had been pasted and ripped off and there are layers of them still there.

Day 07 #dailypatterns

And I forgot to put this up yesterday! Should put a reminder in my phone! And this patterns comes to you from my fence. Love wood grain patterns!

Day 06 #dailypatterns

I put this up on Instagram but not on my blog! Terrible! But this particular piece was some random spray paint in town.

#dailypatterns Day 04

Not the nicest day today but got a beautiful silhouette photo. Could be a flat black and white pattern.

#dailypatterns Day 03

I came across this tree that had been pulled out and left by the street. It had been in a square pot and I thought its roots looked awesome pressed up into that shape. Also I have now become that weirdo that stops and takes photos of random things. Ah well, it is definitely making me more observant.

#dailypatterns Day 02

Day 2 already! This pattern I stumbled across and thought it looked so clean and graphic. Our windows at work have a dot overlay, and this is the reflection of it on my notebook.

#dailypatterns Day 01

I found this beautiful pattern/plant today while walking to the supermarket. And I nearly forgot to put it up!!!!

A Pattern a Day for 30 Days #dailypatterns

Summer is upon us and I am excited about all the beautiful floral and fauna that is around me as I walk to and from work. I have also been inspired by all the beautiful patterns that exist in nature and have decided to record these better in order to gain more inspiration for my own pattern design.

So this is what brings to me to complete my own experiment of
A Pattern a Day for 30 Days
#dailypatterns

For 30 days I am going to post a photo of 1 pattern that I have come across in my own surroundings everyday. My hope is that this will open my eyes and observations even more to find loads more inspiration to work with.

New Project

I have started a new project! I've been procrastinating about it for so long and now I've finally put pen to cardboard, not to mention its permanent pen.

So to explain more, I got these awesome cardboard stools at a design market (I am trying so hard to remember who I got them from, when I find out I'll tell you all). I've been using them as bedside tables and every time I go to bed I get inspired by what I could draw on them. This has probably been happening for about 6 months now. Until final last night I started. The small piece I have done so far is me tracing the pattern on. Its not working great since if i trace too hard it dents the cardboard, or the pencil line is so faint I might as well freehand the whole thing (which terrifies me).

Ideally I would love a projector so I don't have to keep redrawing my pattern, but then I had a friend who mentioned the wonderful draw by grid method. So I think i might go with this. It will basically be me redrawing the whole pattern onto the box by hand but square by square. I figure a square a night and I'll be able to finish this off in about another 6 months?

Ah well if it starts to look terrible like a child has gone crazy with a marker, i'll just paint the side white… that would still look good right?? Eeekk well i'll keep you updated as to my progress.
